"He's Just Drunk" is Live!
My name is Stephanie Binns, and music has been my main means of communication for 40+ years - ever since I started playing the piano by ear when I was three years old. I started writing piano-driven ballads early on to help me process big emotions, and this fall Iām taking the frightening step of sharing the lessons Iāve learned with the big, wide world.
Since (as my BFF likes to put it) Iām āneuro-spicy,ā my brain doesnāt always understand the messages my heart (and my gut) are trying to send, and Iāve found that writing music helps bridge that gap and translate pathos into logos. When I start feeling unsettled in my spirit, I know itās time for another song. The style of that song, though, depends on the message I decipher. I have classical-sounding reflections on faith, country-esque barroom confessions, Flamenco-inspired allegories and more. (Iāll let you listen and decide where āHeās Just Drunkā fits.)
Even though I know that the lens through which I view the world is a little wonky, I canāt help but fall into the same paradigmatic trap to which all humans are susceptible: everyone thinks everyone else experiences the world the same way they do. This is why Iām linking resources I hope will be helpful to those who, like me, are a little slow on the uptake in learning life lessons. Please feel free to use and share the addiction, therapy, and relationship Resources.
